for Contributors
Land
Contamination & Reclamation publishes original research and review
papers on the environmental, technical and public health issues relating
to the contamination and remediation of soil and groundwater, together
with coverage of the legal, public policy and commercial aspects. Contributions
are invited for publication in the form of original research papers, case
studies, and regional and thematic reviews. The journal also welcomes
informal articles or press releases for inclusion in the 'Bulletin' section.
Papers
should be complete accounts of work which has special significance and
must be presented clearly and concisely. Papers are usually between 2000
and 5000 words. Longer papers can be accommodated. Articles for the 'Bulletin'
should not exceed 2000 words.
Only
work not currently submitted or previously published elsewhere can be
accepted for review. Authors must agree not to submit elsewhere a paper
that has been accepted by Land Contamination & Reclamation. Authors
are responsible for the originality of their texts. Authors are encouraged
to suggest potential referees. Manuscripts should be submitted to one
of the following editors:

A
copyright transfer form should be submitted
with each paper.
Format
All papers should be submitted in English, on a CD or email attachment
in Microsoft Word, in Times New Roman 12 pt, double-spaced, with all illustrations
and tables. Pages should be numbered. Manuscripts may be edited for clarity
and grammar.
The following should be included:
- the title
(and a short title of about 45 characters, if main title is longer);
- authors' names and affiliations, and the corresponding author with full
contact information;
an abstract of not more than 300 words;
a list of key words;
any relevant acknowledgements.
The
papers should follow the sequence: title, authors, abstract, introduction,
methods, results, discussion, conclusions, acknowledgements, references,
table and figure legends, tables, figures.
Authors should keep a copy. The publisher cannot accept responsibility
for loss of or damage to material submitted.
Illustrations
Art should not be embedded in the Word file, but submitted separately
as photographs, prints, or high resolution digital files (at least 300
DPI for photos and halftones, and 1200 DPI for line illustrations). TIFF
or EPS files are preferred, although JPGs are also accepted. Colour art
must be saved as CMYK (not RGB). A printout of the illustrations should
be included. Avoid submitting Powerpoint files.
For
hard copy submission, original photographs should be supplied with the
manuscript (photocopies cannot be accepted). All illustrations should
be numbered and labelled, and the top of the illustration indicated. Figures
should be numbered in the order cited in the text. Figures will often
be reduced the type size of any text in a figure should take this
into account. It is the authors responsibility to obtain permission
to quote material and to reproduce illustrations, graphs, tables, etc.
which are from copyright sources.
Tables
Use Arabic numerals to number tables. Each table must stand alone
i.e. contain all necessary information in a caption/footnotes.
References
In the text give the author(s) and year of publication in parentheses
e.g. (Salter 1992) and list references in alphabetical order by author
at the end of the paper. When citing a string of references, they should
be listed chronologically. For references in the text, if there are more
than two authors give the first author followed by et al. In the list
of references et al. should only be used if a publication has more than
six authors. References should appear in the following forms:

For journals the standard abbreviation of the title should be used.
Offprints
EPP Publications will provide authors with offprints/additional copies
of the edition in which their work appears at no charge. Please contact
the publisher.
